How long would it take to replace a fuse box with a new(RCD) box?

Small 3 bed semi-detached house, with Aqualisa power showers, recently re-wired.

Why do I ask? I (upnorth) spoke to our trusted electrician who has done work for me and my familyfor the past 20 years and asked him for a price and he told me ÂŁ100 for partsand 3 hours labour ÂŁ100 total ÂŁ200. Myson (down south) who is buying the house that needs (according to the surveyor)a new RCD unit has been quoted ÂŁ350.

The price of materials is the same in the north as it is inthe south does the cost of labour vary across the country?

TIA

Mike

Well, with that much BS coming OUT of the OP, it shouldn't hurt him too much when I insert a rolled up BS7671 back IN.

Knob. Nuff said.

I don't follow footie that closely, but I seem to remember there's been some serious F%$ÂŁ ups with them, they were in free fall at one point.
that was peter ridsdale.....funny thing is though....about a few weeks later (after he left Leeds in a mess)....he popped up at Barnsley....then it was cardiff......then plymouth argyle...his old chum peter reid joined up with him again at that point.....

Are you kidding me?

This tool needs BS7671 to give him a DRY bare back riding followed by a good old shafting with the several editions of Part P of the Building Regs! lol

I might also consider shoving my last insurance renewal up there as well for good measure.

Prime donnes!

Some of you need some reality pills. Because you can charge someone ÂŁ400 for an easy sub 5 hours work doesn't mean that you deserve it. You are not highly trained, highly qualified, doing a job that only the most intelligent can do. You all know and I know how much time and effort it takes to qualify as an electrician . . you need nothing more than average intelligence and three years part time study. Ninety percent of the population could do what you do after a few months training. Nurses need to study longer and harder, teachers need higher qualifications; you can charge what you like but if you are charging more than ÂŁ30 and hour for your 'expertise' you are simply ripping off your customers. That's OK, you are not alone, I (the customer) have been ripped off many times I know it and you know it.

Feeling better now after that? :)

I especially enjoyed the average intelligence and a few years part time study bit

Some arab will buy the whole premiership sooner or later and throw a load of cash around. Then it'll burst just like the south sea bubble did.
Thankfully I follow a proper sport, rugby union

Didn't take you for a Rah,Rah, Trev.

Read this thread afew times since the OP's ill informed rant....avoided posting due to not really likeing the ban hammer so all i'll add for the OP is...Nugget.

The rant annoyed me...but the talk of football tipped the annoyance scales even more....being a Forest fan for many years i try to stay in the past and ignore the present game
