replacing sockets

a customer has phoned and said that there pull cord is faulty for there shower that, it has burnt out, have said this could of been caused by a loose cable. They have asked for this to be replaced. if i check the cabling size also and this is fine can i just replace the switch or do i have to fit a rcd if this isnt already fitted

Like for like replacement, no need to add an RCD unless it's an alteration or addition.

An RCD on a shower circuit I always drum into the client how important it is.
