replacing with deeper back box

Hi, first time posting

I want to replace my back boxes which are currently 16mm deep with 25 or 35 mm deep back boxes. Ive removed the plaster around it but I don't know what to do with the cables which are on the top and bottom of the back box

Chop a bit of plaster out above to pull the cables forwards and put them in once the box is in

I always fit 47mm on light switches, sorry I mean 25mm.
