Found this today whilst looking for the CU, but it was the CU! New one on me. Take off the cover and 3 rewire-ables hiding behind there, supplying a 3 bed house, nice :speechless:

Anyone else come across one before (maybe some of you older sparks :rolleyes2

Yes, believe it or not there's still a lot of CU's like that around.

Sounds like a new CU is required with a handfull of RCBO's

seen quite a few of those. Most installations with them i've found that green gunk behind some of the sockets and switches, soo look out for that.

Check this one out, went to carry out some work in a reposessed house, they had condemned it

I opened it up and very quickly closed it when i saw the asbestos inside it

It was a 3 or 4 way consumer unit from about 1600's haha

(we're doing kitchen refurb) Did advise that, but customer wasn't happy to pay if there were any underlying faults:ihih:

So putting in a secondary unit which will supply just kitchen ring + cooker/hob.... + bond in for water (simples - less hassle for me anyway)
