My home CCTV system has started popping up this message suddenly… and I can’t get it to go away for good.

I’ve tried setting a DHCP as shown below, but it still appears.
Also tried disabling the DHCP and changing the “111” to any other number under 253… but after 10 minutes or so, the message pops up again.

It’s a SANNCE system, which I acquired from a customer when they upgraded.
Patch lead from here into a TP LINK Wi-Fi repeater.
Only new Wi-Fi thing in the house is a new Samsung telly. I might check its settings today.

I always set the routers dhcp scope to assign numbers from 50 to 250

I.e. 192.168.1.50 to 192.168.1.250

If any device needs a fixed ip, then put it outside of the dhcp scope
I.e. 192.168.1.10
Then the dhcp will not issue that address to something else.

This is a subject I know next to nothing about, but I can confirm that Samsung TVs cause unasked for messages to pop up on other devices at random times.

Happens with both of mine. Seems to happen a few times over a couple of days, then not again for weeks or months.
Have more of them in the holiday cottages. Haven't heard anything from guests, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Typical.

After taking those photos, enabling the dchp, I restarted the system…. And it’s playing nice now.

Now to sort the third camera out that’s stopped working.

It might be a port issue, I have found when setting up CCTV systems you can get port conflicts with the HTTP port set at 80 as some routers and occasionally other network devices use port 80 by default
You could try changing the port number on the CCTV but you would probably then need to port forward it on the router some will do it automatically if the right network settings are set
I usually set the CCTV HTTP port to 8080 and if an RTSP port is specified I use 5554 which usually sorts any network porting issues although having setup a CCTV system a few years ago on a new build vet surgery at the move in time the crew putting in the VOIP phone system told me that the CCTV system was causes issues with the phones they got upset when I told them that the phone system was causing issues with the CCTV and they needed to sort out their port conflicts it was strange that they didn't know how to fix it so they disconnected the CCTV from the network

I have a Samsung TV and it does indeed behave "oddly".
For some reason, the designers have programmed it to change IP address on a regular basis - several times a day. Because of the way I manage my network, it's taken a little extra effort to pin it down to one address. But because the DHCP server won't give it another address, it does seem to drop off the network momentarily.

So it will cycle around all available addresses over time. If, as James notes above, you have a device on a fixed address that's within the DHCP pool then sooner or later you will have a conflict.

So as James says, make sure every device either uses DHCP or has a fixed address which is not within the DHCP pool of addresses.

One other thing to look out for is another DHCP server on the network. This can be quite entertaining in it's effects. The most common cause is using an old routeras a switch and/or WiFi acces point.
