RFC - no CPC continuity!

If you're doing a periodic, give it a code 2 and move on...
Otherwise, locate the sockets either side of it and completely disconnect the offending item from the circuit and make 2 radials with 20A breakers.

The pictures are great, stuff like that just makes me laugh.

From the photo you show the socket is no use anyway, how about using a starret cutter cut all the socket out you can which should get you on the cables and crimp in backbox then cut a blank plate down to cover hole.

Depending on what the floor covering is (I'm assuming the socket is down near the floor) and the type of fixing for the door lining (either cut nails or screws behind the door stop is usual). You may be able to prise that away at the bottom to gain access to the socket and remove it. You can then replace the socket with a permanent joint and do away with the socket. Not a big job for a chippy on mates rates if you know one. Just make sure you check the level of the door lining before you remove it (it may not be plumb to start with!).

I'm with Archy on this one.
Locate the sockets either side, diss the cables to the dodgey socket and run a new cable.

It does mention the ubiquitous landlord as well, so could be.

If it's for the PIR, I'd concur with the convert to two radials as a quicker fix to leave it safe.

It's a board change and I stumbled on CPC continuity issue on one of the RFC's. It's laminated flooring, but I will try topquark's advice on this. Cheers!

Should go without saying but ... if you're going to try the wander lead method make sure you disconnect the half of the cpc that you're not testing at the CU at the time of testing. You never know there may be another hidden socket(s) somewhere. You should also ensure that there are no other connections back to the earth bar in the CU with both legs of the cpc disconnected (in case you have interconnected circuits etc) before you start
