hi there

I have been asked to complete a 2nd fix, the 1st fix was completed by an electrician who has apparently 'disappeared' without a trace.

The thing is, there are two circuits wired in 6mm T&E on 32mcb's that then jump down after a run of about 6 metres to 2.5mm T&E and then into socket rings.

comments please.

thanks
harry

When i was doing my 2391 course another spark asked the tutor if he could do this as he was moving the fuseboard and it was quicker and easier to run 3 x 6mm to extend the 3 ringmains.
The tutor said as others have said that although maybe a departure from bs7671 there was nout wrong with it.
As long as the ringmains have continuity and the breaker does not exceed 32amps its fine although mixing cable sizes is frowned upon. the main issue would be the junction box in the ceiling if its not accessible.
