I’ve got to admit I’d love to do a full house in conduit or MICC.
And before anyone says anything, no I wouldn’t use 20A metal clad isolators for the light switches!

2.5 CPC? Isn’t you’re conduit good enough then?
Come on you should have expected me to jump on that one!
For gods sake don’t tell me it’s in plastic conduit.

Sorry kid.

It IS PVC conduit mate, typical house bashing stuff in Cyprus. They can't use T&E in housing over there, 99% of all housing is concrete frame with block fill-in and concrete floors/ceilings. Normally they use 16 mm conduit for lighting, but i spec'd 20mm throughout in my 2 properties.

EDIT .... Seen a couple of older properties over there where they had used black conduit. Well what was left of it. They didn't use to slab water proofing in the old days, and both properties had, had an ongoing slow leak on the pipework around the bathroom area's. Literary totally destroyed the conduit system in the screeds on the ground floor....

I did my house in conduit, PVC, wasn't going to try and get 20mm metal tubes through holes in joists!

I wouldn't even try getting PVC conduit through holes in joists, i'd do as the plumbers and heating guys do and slot the joists.

I'll wait for the flack now, from all those younger guy's that believe the crap about where, what and when you can drill holes or slot !! And that think your going to weaken joists to the point of collapse... lol!!

Funny how all the millions of houses over the years, survived with literary no such building Reg's!! Mind you, joists ''Where'' real joists in the past!!!

Water leaching through concrete is highly alkaline so no it wouldn’t last very long. At times when working in the quarries you ended up more a stone mason trying to get in to conduit boxes. After a couple of years your nice conduit runs had stalactites growing from them.

They were built with decent timbers, not match sticks.
And I’m with you I’d slot a 8” joist quite happily.
