ripping off people from the Islands with postage costs !!!

Was recently looking at some of the sponsors sites and was tempted to buy some things!
Then I checked delivery charges and for an item costing £36 they want £22 for delivery!
Why when we have a postal service that will deliver it here for the same price as it would cost to post it to their next door neighbour?
Royal mail have parcel delivery insured and no problem to get things posted to here!
Have some fore sight and see your loosing business not making it but penalising the islanders.

Its not just the Islands. I live mear paisley Mainland UK about 10 Miles from Glasgow. I have had the situation of huge postage rates as PA postcode covers some islands so companys charge to deliver there.
There I loss told them why i cancelled order.

But we can't even request they send by Royal Mail at our risk ? Sorry to the guys that think I am offensive but living up here was not my choice I was born here but because of my elderly parents and now married here I would not leave. But our wages are lower and our costs higher so I do get wound up. I asked what I thought was a reasonable question but I won't make the mistake again thanks all
