Rise and fall mechanism

Does anyone know where I could source just the rise and fall mechanism for a pendant light and then fit that to an existing light fitting?

I've googled 'rise and fall mechanism' but all it gives is the complete light fitting and usually very pricey!

Was just thinking that.... down to the diy shop, bit of sash cord, a few pulleys, a double hook to wind the sash round..... ta da ! One bespoke, retro, vintage, etc rise and fall light madam.

I did a kitchen fit last year and the customer had one of those wooden racks in his utility room... thought it was great ..... he went and fitted one in his daughter's house over the stairs for some reason too.
