When an air con installer asked for a 25A isolator are they expecting a 20A or 32A supply to it?

Is your client the Electrical Designer?
I always thought you were the Electrician! :)
Yes engineer, he designed the the job, all done on a drawing with all the calcs done for us, that said even if he didn't I would price and install 6mm2 for an air con, hardly any difference in price than a 4mm2, a lot of units are up on roofs and a 4mm2 would be on the limit manc.

Yes... What's your point?

I appreciate SY is not the best cable to use, but it does the job.its only a small section that is visible, the rest is under the decking and that section will be decked over shortly so not too bothered about UV issues.

Reason for sy, it's got a slight bit more protection from accidental damage, ok not tonnes, but a bit more than flex.

Maybe flex would have been better, but gin that eventually goes dry etc.

SY should not be used outside, it's got no protection from accidental damage and is barely water resistant.
H07 flex is far tougher and therefore far more resistant to mechanical damage.
