Hello,
I recently decided for a change in career and want to train as an electrician. Jobs seem to vary in my area, from testing to installations.

I have looked at a number of electricial intensive courses and am prepared to put in the work.
But can anyone give me an idea of the qualifications I need to work as a qualified electrician as every training provider seems to be training with different C&G exams and this has confused me greatly.

City & Guilds 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations Logic Full Scope Electrical Part P Scheme ReactFast Electrical Installation Certificate
If I was to apply for a testing job, would I need to do another course, or would the three listed above allow me to do so?

Many Thanks

Look out, Shakeys going somewhere else to play if people stand up to him.

Whatever next.

I think people are just fed up of listening to you waffling on all the time. You challenge everyones opinions and comments and then throw your toys out of your pram if they do it back. Even threatening my good self with legal action on one occasion because I posted a link to a multifunction tester for sale!

I think "forum troll" is the wrong terminology for you I agree. Perhaps "forum tw@t" is more suited?

In case you wondered Shakey, these forums are for the use of anyone who wishes to post in them. Not just for you to vent your feelings because youve been here since the beginning!

Get a life, after clicking on a link I posted to a tester you threatened me and was going to try to get my home address because the link contained spyware. Something I still have no knowledge of.

And you expect me to give you a hug now your upset

After posting the above last night ive thought about things and read your other thread Shakey.

There is no need to get to the point where you are staying awake at night worrying over what people think about you.

Yes you are a bit arrogant but it is only because your knowledge of electrical installations/engineering surpasses anyone elses here. I myself have asked for your help and advice on a number of occasions because of it.

If you left this forum it would be a terrible blow. I cant say I like your attitude here at times but your help to us all is valuable and I know I speak for everyone when I urge you to stay.

Hope that you can understand that though I think you do post without thinking sometimes you do know your stuff, second to none.

Dont stay away too long. I miss the banter already.
