league = non contested scrums
Union =contested scrums
I couldn't see his question pete, now you have highlighted what he said the answer is slightly more than what you said mate, basically a lot of differences,
Union= try=5 points conversion= 2 points
League= try 4 points conversion 2 points (I think, it used to be 1 point)
Union= 15 men
League= 13 men
Union= constant play unless a penalty is given or a score or ball into touch
League= 5 tackles and the ball must be kicked away which stops a team progressing up the field
Union= scrums ( there is a lot regarding this in Union, it can dominate a game)
League= a scrum as you mentioned just a novelty and hardly seen
Union= all players different sizes and weights due to positions
League= vast majority of men are the same ish weight
Union= stricter rules, refs will not tolorate most situations which slow the game down
League= hard as fluck, punch ups and whole team brawls, great entertainment and red cards not so often seen
Union=universal throughout the country
League=mainly northern game with the odd southern team, not so widespread
Union= a faster flowing game in general but League is harder and the guys need more stamina, I will see if I can find a proper breakdown of the differences and post back later fella
