I am getting an electrician in to fit a new consumer unit to provide an extra 32 amp cable/supply for a new cooker.
I cant see how the electrician would be able to get a new cable from the garage where the consumer unit is located to the kitchen.
Is it common for electricians to not be able to fit a new cable due to not having an accessible route??

A cable can be installed to get to anywhere in a house, it's just the cosmetic repair afterwards that varies.
Get a couple of electricians round for a look and they will advise you on the best options.

Your electrician will provide with all the viable options, which may include lifting floor boards or chasing the cable in to a wall, plastic conduit etc, it's then up to you which option you want to go for, then the electrician will quote/charge you accordingly

See the two posts above...
I'm good at contributing to the forum....

whereabouts are you? a member may be able to call in and advise.

If you have an older property with floor boards and carpet it should be quite straight forwards

If you are all laminated and chip board not so straight forwards

might even be a 18" void under floor. that's just reminded me what apprentices are for.

That’s what super rods are for
that's funny. that's what i called my apprentice, back in the day. his name was Rodney, and i called him super rod. he could get in spaces i could not dream of entering ( no smutty comments @ spoon and any other members of a like mind. :disrelieved:  :imp: )
