hello all im carrying out some work in a social housing building and they have problems with massive gas/electrical bills (ÂŁ4000) a month,
its a 3 storey building with 10 self contained bedrooms with en suit all with at lease one radiator in, they have recently had there boiler change by british gas and where told to save install cost and gas ect to have the whole building on one zone, so my question is can i get 3 wireless thermostats wire one receiver off the next so that when any stat calls for heat the heating comes on and when all stats are satisfied the heating will cut out?? ive been thinking it though in my head and i believe it should work im just wondering if anyone else had and things to think about or other ideas
cheers

How can you look at old people, in self contained rooms, unable to control their own heating. I think we may be going back more than 50 years here.

Cannot all be trvs, needs a bypass rad.

Boydy

Not necessarily a rad.

A differential bypass valve can be fitted, but having said that, most of the newer boilers have a built-in bypass.

Ok .. here's the Rolls Royce way to do it and it comes with a Rolls Royce price tag.

Fit a roomstat in each room controlling a zone valve in each room which controls the radiator in the room.

Use the microswitch on each zone valve to fire the boiler when the roomstat calls for heat.

It's an easy matter to wire all the switches in parallel to the boiler.

I cannot for the life of me get my head around what British Grasp are babbling about.
