Russian difficult or what

Well guys lots of new clients in the area, namely russians with lots of money. So ive decided to add a bit of russian to the language bank. Bloody hard is all i can say. Anybody had a go. or its my age!

It's the boom industry in China at the moment, every Tom Dick and Harry, is teaching English!! Not very well either!! ....But believe me, Chinese that can speak a little English are few and far between, even less so, those that can converse in English!!

Maybe I should apply for a job there as an English teacher.

Must be lucky....the pcb manufactures I use speak very good English.......think its harder to find an honest and good firm these days in China.

Not lucky as such, companies that trade overseas will troll the universities and the like, for good English speaking graduates, they generally come at a premium

It is improving over here, ...many of the colleges and universities are insisting on Engineering (along with other professional disciplines) students taking English as a second compulsory subject to at least higher school certificate level, if they do not already hold that certificate.


The 15 Engineering 3rd/4th year students i take 3 times a fortnight speak pretty good English. Me i have a spoken Chinese vocabulary of about 200 words and about 20 set sentences, that just about get's me by in most situations. Anything more and i let the wife do the talking!! lol!!

dont know the right spellings but...

dosvidanya (many would say its russian for 'good by') English is the only language that has such a cold phrase, in Russian its something like 'Until we see each other again'

I learnt Russian at school. Forgotten most of it now though. Except the important swear words. I love it when someone is speaking Russian in the street and I can understand them. Some funny moments there
