hi guys have a scantronic 9800 showing bF internal battery is 13.5 v so well within range will the battery in the external sounder bring up that fault code cheers for any responses

Hi, the bF fault code is only for the internal control panel battery, have you disconnected the mains and checked the battery voltage on load ??

The external sounder battery will not be monitored by the control panel.

If the circuit board is not charging the battery, the circuit boards often come up for sale on E Bay

Hope that helps.

are you getting that 13.5V with the battery connected or dissed? try dissing the battery, measure it's voltage with a load connected. a MR16 would do. i'd suspect the battery first.

It should give fairly accurate results. Bear in mind your car will probably have a smart charging system, so worth having a read up on those.
