Scantronic ion 16 door contact

hey guys

I've installed a scantronic ion16 alarm system a year ago been working fine. Now i want to add a door contact but for the life of me can't get it to work. I know it needs 2 zones but abit unsure on the jumper settings, 2 jumpers one for n/c n/o now I've set it to n/c and a reed jumper (unsure what this is). I've put the resister between the alarm terminals (is this correct) and obviously the tamper springs.

I can get the panel to see the door contacts but unsure which zone is which if this makes sense?

Any advice would be appreciated

These are a bit more difficult to set up than they should be! Are you using the internal reed switch as your door contact, or are you using a hard wired door contact?

Im glad some one else thinks it and it's not just me. I was using the internal reed switch

The instructions are carp; very poorly written and I have to stop and think when I fit these! I'm typing this from memory, so I'll double check when I get home.
You only need to use 1 zone (unless you actually need 2).
To use the internal reed switch, remove the jumper from LK2; remove jumper from LK4 for normal operation (I.e. No roller shutter or vibration sensor). Loop out the tamper terminals at the bottom of the pcb.
With both tampers closed, activate one tamper to learn the transmitter to the zone you require.

This is how I've got it set up. Jumper across the reed switch, resister in the bottom terminals which are labelled up as alarm.

Ah, that's the 01 version, for FSL. Need to check later for you; maybe Tazz has info meantime?

Sorry forgot to mention that. What's the difference between 00 and 01

Are you using as a door contact only, with built in reed contact or using external reed contact..?

Just want to use it as a door contact only. Think I'm just using the built in reed (one near the led?)

ok move dis reed to enable link 1 & 3 set for n/c

No I've had the door contact for a while and lost the instructions last time I tried to set it up. I've tried looking online but can only find the data sheet

Managed to get hold of the manual for the door contact. I've linked to the panel by setting off the tamper for one zone then removed the resister in the alarm terminals for the zone two. Set zone to as entry route and to chime. Put the jumper across link 1 to set it to normally close. Put the lid back on gone out of engineers mode tried it and no chime anything. Took the lid off and it didn't even set the tamper off
