Can I connect the meter tails into the top of this MCB and the load cable (SWA) out of the bottom. The MCB is not marked for in and out and I cannot find any info on Schneider's web site indicating this is not possible.

That's the right way anyway or can I just not see the picture properly?

In a consumer unit the supply comes in the bottom via busbar and the the circuits are connected in the top. At the main isolator, the meter tails are indeed connected into the top. The main switch in this case is going to be in the DNO's panel. I am just installing the MCB to provide short/overload protection up to the house. The 25 mm SWA cable would be better coming out of the bottom as it is quite stiff. Would not be the end of the world if it does have to come out of the top. There will be enough room in the enclosure.

Does it matter which way you put them in, either way it will switch the power on and off at the opposite side of the supply terminal.

If that makes sense :s

it makes sense and I know it doesn't matter but just pointing out the top is the supply side

The tails are coming out of the meter in DNO's enclosure, to my enclosure, through MCB, then SWA to house 25m away.
So the top is the supply

1 3 5 connections
I have a bog standard MK B16. This sits on the busbar, so the supply side is coming in the bottom. The circuit is then connected in the top of this CB. The small diagram (numbered on the the Schneider) is not numbered on the MK but is identical in other respects. So the 1,2,3 numbering info was helpful, even though it probably does not matter.

Hi,

Probably not the way things are done now, but I was always taught and still do it now, supply in the bottom terminals and load out the top. Either way though and the isolator/switch will still operate correctly.

Regards.
