Just to clarify Guys, most of my posts in this thread are total wind ups, I wish you guys well whatever you decide, no hard feelings from me and thanks for not biting too hard, you have sence of humours you lot, fair play to you.
there'a major problem if scotland goes independent that nobody's spotted yet. the english govt. will put import taxes on scotch.
That doesn't really explain anything - what would a split from the rest of the UK allow than the Scottish Parliament can't already do? If they hadn't had any power then why is university tuition free to the Scottish but not the English, why are prescriptions free in Scotland but not England, and why do you have different Part P rules?Scotland has an opportunity to control it's own future, that means that we can vote any party into government and be ruled by that party.
In what way doesn't the current arrangement work? If it already works then what's the sense in changing it? Change it until it doesn't work? Also, what's to say Scotland will fail?

The Scottish typically vote for more socialist policies which has a history of not working. Apparently it 'works' in Scandanavia which has been attributed to everyone having to look out for each other due to the harsh climate, but that's no guarantee that it will work all over Scotland, especially in the cities.
Hadrian built it because he feared the Scots.........LOLMaybe you Jocks will start wearing underwear if you go it alone, you will have no-body to pull your kilts up to when the new 8ft wall is built across the border lol
Ok, so if we do get independence we have our say about issues such as the EU, nuclear weapons, immigration etc. If we remain in the UK our population is not enough to sway the vote so once again the outcome is decided by the English vote, therefore, we are not in control of our own future.

On the subject of the EU, as a new country Scotland would have to submit a new application to join, and as a condition of membership new members are required to join the Euro.
