Just wondering what everyone does with their scrap? I've got loads of rubble sacks full of all sizes ranging from 1mm to 25mm. I couldn't be arsed stripping the small stuff but might separate the bigger stuff (old tails, bigger armour) as I might get round to strip it? Is it worth it?

I don't bother anymore, my wife started going off it with the amount sitting in the back garden. So the young in I have working for me clears the site at the end of the day and gets it off site.

It's about £4.00 a kilo stripped and £1.00 kilo not. I pile it up in the unit and on slow days get the apprentice stripping the cable.

have one of these attached to a bench for the small T&E,

SCRAP COPPER CABLE WIRE STRIPPER saves time and no cut fingers make money | eBay

Hi Lee , where are you getting £4.00 a kilo for bright , from ?
I have not seen it reach much above £3.70 a kilo , for near on two years now .
This is in Lincolnshire , having said that .

Slow days are when you take time out with the apprentice and help with his studies. Not have him wasting time doing menial jobs.

With any apprentice I’ve had a slack day was a chance to sit down and talk. If I could I’d set up faults for them to find. It wasn’t slack time, it was time to make use of in their training program.

When it came to a workshop clean up, everyone mucked in, foreman to apprentice.

Never call them a slack day, not in my earshot.

fair play, but he loves it as most of time I let him keep the pound notes as long as he invests it in tools etc.

Once he’s stripped a couple of lengths of cable what is there to learn? I’ve always been a believer in ongoing training, fortunately the company I served my time with had the same attitude.

So do I. I mean this happens probably twice a year hardly affecting his training lol.
