Im glad the op found the hidden rcd
Bit like my vague fault today.lights have started to trip the rcd. Finds the the problem cct, educated/experience tells me its ****ing down with rain. lets look at the outside lights, tests first one all clear, second has fault. Happy days isolates faulty bit. re tests cct and all is clear.
I ask would you like the flood/pir sorting, ofc they do. Gets up to flood cable not connected, just rammed into the gland as its too short. End of cable **** wet through. obvious fault there and confirmed by previous testing results.
Now its apparent, he put a new flood up, cable not long enough, stuffed into edge of gland and forgot about it. Until this rain has played its part
So OP, did you see what I done there with a hand full of tools. My meter being my primary in fault finding. Test, test and locate, repair or isolate. I look forward to your return to the thread, and giving us the full Dr Quincey on your fault.
