I have listened to the stories regarding some of the popular, and expensive drivers you lads favour, and sometimes i wonder if they are worth the money. I have used Snap-on drivers for many years,in heavy industry too,and have had no problems with excessive wear, and to break tips, you would have to really abuse them, some having a bolster to enable torque to be applied via a spanner. With the appropriate driver, used on a screw in good order, the thread diameter being less than the driver shaft diameter,i would expect to be able to shear the screw, long before tip failure...then i do have a set of forearms, only derived from constructing tissue mountains in my bedroom,as a teenager...:icon12:

? snap-on is over rated, its not as good as it once was

same as a lot of brands, the average quality of tool steel has gone downhill purely because they can get away with cheaper materials.

ive used facom slotted drivers on pz2 screws and not bent them etc, some brands are just softer than others.

i have only ever damaged a slotted and then ill fix them up on a dmt

The last few posts have proved my old teachers were indeed correct,in their assertion, that i was an "unwanted and pointless distraction to the rest of the class..." Once again,i apologise, only this time i mean it...:conehead:

Had the same whia set since 2008 and other than the 3mm terminal driver I snapped and a 4mm slotted I dropped down a duct they are all still going strong so I have to say whia for me most other brands don't seem to last much longer than 6 months at best now
