Hi I’m taking my SECTT test in a few weeks, just wondering what it actually consists of? What to study and research as I can’t find anything online

I think SECTT is the training provider. What you will be going to is the AM2 test… Is that right?

There will be a bit on fault finding, safe isolation and some other practical work.
Possibly a paper exercise?

Are you heading to Edinburgh for a few days for this?

I could be completely wrong….

Is this a pre apprenticeship aptitude test?

Either way, @Dan can badge you as a trainee.

Yes it’s the pre employment assessment I’m doing.

if its anything like 30 years ago, it was some simple maths questions, a bit of common sense health and safety and a colour blindness test.

There used to be example questions online. Try the SELECT website or ring them. Having gone through it with my last apprentice it is timed and you need to answer as many questions as you can. Try not to linger on each one as you’ll run out of time. He failed first time around purely because of taking too long. Good luck.

Oh so you can re-sit the test if you fail? I never knew that I thought it was a one time thing pass or fail and you couldn't do it again?
