First fixed for a security alarm about a year ago in my house and it's nearly time for second fix, I've only ever installed veritas r8's before, what do other people use? Are veritas a good brand as I have nothing to compare them to.
I would like perhaps some phone app connectivity, the only way I remember doing this before hand was to install a dialler but i suspect times may have moved on from this,
System requires
6x PIR
1x door contact
2x panic switch
2x keypad
1x bell box
Thanks

I have a Pyronix Enforcer with I think it's AppControl option (I think this is the only variant of the Enforcer you can get now). It connects via the WiFi at home to the PyronixCloud service so I can manage it from my desktop PC and access the panel from my phone.

The PIRs and Door contacts could be wireless, it supports a couple of wired inputs which you could use for the panic buttons. You have the option of wired or wireless bell modules (I normally go wired if the cable has enough cores or I can route a cable, for the simple reason you don't have to worry about changing the battery).

They aren't cheap though. But they do offer a lot of functionality, especially when you start chucking in the expansion modules that can have outputs programmed with logic or direct control from the app or the panel.

The other panel I go for is the Accenta G4 (or a variant) which is wired. Not sure about the communications options for those though so can't comment.

Thanks for the reply sparkychick, I'll definitely have a look into both those suggestions, i would probably prefer a wired system altough might consider some sort of hybrid, I'll post back in a few weeks and let you know my decision.

the veritas are good. but i use Risco gardtech as standard. tech support is a standard landline and answered quickly. the support is fantastic. theyt have a new system out called commpact. wireless, mobile connect, and cameras. google it.

afaik, panel comms with mobile phone and it's possible to set/unset remotely. so 2 way comms. and you can have CCTV linked in as well.
