You should try navigating the car parks and roads round Godalming and Guildford. The drivers are so elderly it’s like trying to navigate your way through a load of Hexbugs !

It would be better if the cameras were in the right place. A3 round Guildford is 50mph. If you drive through there at 50 there’s always someone up your backside flashing to get past..

Probably me.

People doing 50 with nothing inside them or ahead of them would be shot at dawn of it was up to me.

I have only ever seen 2 people run red lights but what I see more often than not, are people who blatantly don't care for speed limits and being someone who simply never goes over the limit I tend to irritate them when I'm in front. People not indicating really annoy me but that's more not knowing what they are about to do than anything else.

The thing see the most, and this is getting far worse, is the number of drivers jumping red lights .................. sooner or later my dash cam will see the tragedy happening.
I get the feeling in some areas they have shaved extra seconds out of lights sequences .--THERE IS LESS TIME ,safety margin to jump the lights in -- So those bad habits -will end nastily.

Some pedestrians cross the diagonal at lights ...
== No central refuge ..
Not just the drivers !

What’s ‘fire police’ ? Driving in icy contortions the other morning through a village 30mph limit. Little girlie in her brand new little hatch back overtakes me . Absolutely no idea about driving to the conditions.

fire police are emergency police officers who assist the regular police and fire fighters, We control traffic and search and rescue. vehicle rescue, and assist medical teams on sites of fires, accidents and sometimes special events such as parades, and large ceremonies.
(Much prefer these)
many times we detour people around to alternate roads when we have to close down a road.
Its all volunteer work ( and on call almost any hour of the day or night).

just last night heavy fog and visibility very poor we could barely see past the bonnet of my toyota highlander (and my eyesight is good)
young twit passed me at a high rate of speed ( in a 40 mph zone)

No more bloody cameras, driver training and awareness is what is needed, and yes more actual police on the roads, most police will let a slight motorway speed infringement go providing you're not driving aggressively, erratically or dangerously.
What do you reckon to increasing the limits say around midnight through til about 4am, the roads are generally quieter, and full of professional drivers at this time?
Take Germany and the de-restricted autobahns... per capita they have fewer accidents than we do!
my thoughts on motorways are as follows.

lane 1... 60 mph limit , with a 50 mph min
lane 2 ... 75 mph limit, with a 60 mph min
lane 3 90 mph limit with 75 min. this, IMO would ease tailgating and congestion.

most people forget that they are driving a large mass and fail to consider what it takes and how much more distance is needed to bring such a mass to a safe stop! or how road conditions affect that distance.
driving large trucks and buses taught me really quick.

German Autobahns are normally two lanes with no speed limit, we have three lanes on most of our motorways...

People bimbling along in lane two looking at clouds and thinking of poetry cause a lot of issues.

I was taught not to undertake, as a driving instructor I taught people not to undertake. Now I undertake as it's normally the easier and safer option...

Better off getting a rollicking from the traffic and them explaining the errors of your ways then an automatic fine that just fills the Governments coffers.
