Hi there, after endless searching of the mighty interwebs with no solid results I've found myself here with a question or two.

If I were to replace the wiring for various ecu sensor inputs (such as the hot-wire mass air flow sensor for example) with thicker gauge wire, would the ECU still receive an accurate reading?

I would assume the answer would be the same for re-connecting a cut sensor wire that is the same gauge with a butt crimp connection. Would the ECU still measure accurately?

Bonus points for decent explanations, thanks in advance.
ECU in question is Nissan RB20.

The way I understand a MAF sensor works is the wire changes resistivity due to the temperature of the air that flows passed it, the ecu reads the signal and adjusts the fuel and other bits accordingly. By changing the thickness or length of the wire the signal would change, the ecu wouldn't know what the MAF was talking about. So the answer to both of your questions is no.
