I'm clean shaven but occasionally let slip for a couple or 3 days, it itches like hell, tried all sorts Nivea, aftershave, what do you shavers use after shaving, or how do you stop your beards itching?

I gave up shaving (down to the bone) years ago - brought me out in a rash whenever I had a wet shave. Now I'll usually go a couple weeks, and then get the electric trimmer out and get it as close to the bone as it will allow, but not close enough that I don't have a bit stubble.

I shave every day with a very occasional day off, just feel a bit scruffy and not as clean without a good shave and shower every morning.

I'm going to make predictions that our resident banana munching moderator avoids this thread entirely :)

Same with me, I usually shave every day, I just wet-shave with soap whilst in the shower. Occasionally I use a 3 head rechargeable shaver I have in the office if I'm going to a formal meeting but I don't find it as good as a wet shave.

I can't imagine not shaving on a regular basis, I only have to leave it a couple of days and the itching starts.
Plus I still can't get my head around all these daft big beards that everyone thinks look great, One day you/ they are all going to realise how stupid they look.
I feel sorry for all the genuine bearded men who have had their look copied by 20 year old men just for fashion.
I've nothing a against a genuine beard but these new ones just look fake and stuck on, Anyone who watches Fast n Loud will know what I mean ( Aaron Master Mechanic Gas Monkey Garage ).

Not shaved fully for 6 years. The beards now over a foot long. Not had a hair cut in 4 years. Hate spending uneccassry money :)

I found myself missing the pleasure of a close wet shave the other day. I am rather attached to my beard now though.
I have never really had the itchiness of not shaving though. I regularly used to shave on a Monday morning and not bother again until Friday with no ill effects.

I hate shaving so I sometimes miss days without having a shave. No irritation but I don't usually let it get that long. Many years ago I did try putting Imac on my face to see if it did a quicker and neater job than shaving. It didn't.

That's got to be the grumpiest thing I've read this year. I wonder what defines a 'genuine beard'? Is it something you can grow in five weeks or do you need to do the full 5-year apprenticeship?

What I mean by Genuine beard is simply one like Uncle albert of only fools and horses or a lumberjack lol, but now you see all these youngsters suited and booted with a silly great big lump of candyfloss stuck to their chin , society as become a bunch of lemmings all in a line waiting to jump off the same cliff. someone says something is fashionable so everyone jumps on the band wagon yet not one of them stop to think about what a prat they will look like in the name of said fashion.:mamazed:

I remember watching my Dad shave in the mornings when I was a nipper, kept on asking if I could have a go, I really thought how good it felt even though he shaved me withe cover still on the razor, couldn't wait to get hair on me chin to shave off

I would agree that the motor is by far the best part to replace. if it is powered and not turning then it is broken. Keep it simple!
