went to customer today to repair his fridge (as im domestic appliance engineer) and when got there he fitting electrics to his shed, put couldnt get his light to work, asked if i knew anything about electrics, simple answer not really, my old man is a sparky not me,anyway thought ask on here as got go back on tuesday to regas his fridge, he run 2.5 cable from upstairs socket, drilled hole through wall wire cable to back of socket down to outside weatherproof junction box then cable out and across to the shed, which then goes into junction box, with one cable running round to a 2 gang socket, which works, then another cable coming from bottom af the junction box then runs across to a ceiling rose, then another cable comes out of ceiling rose back across the roof to a 2 gang 2 way light switch, has power across all the cables put the light wont work, only the socket works, where did he go wrong but from being tight and not getting a sparky in lol

na im not a sparky nor do i do any electric work, only white goods, my old man is sparky has been for last 40 years but as he dying of cancer didnt think it right to be asking him, i only said to customer think u need cu and swa cable but i find out from another local sparky and get them to quote to sort it the correct way.
