sadldy there are a hell of a lot of installations out there in a similat state. As truckster says most people give the same answer. Well its been like that for years and weve never had any problems.
People would rather spend on a new kitchen or bathroom than pay to have their electrics brought up to a safe standard.
I had heard a few years ago that insurance companies were going to start asking for an up to date PIR before issuing buildings cover to make sure there was reduced risk to themselves.

What happened to that i wonder.

I've upgraded similar for friends and relatives, but not on my advice, only after the British Gas engineer who came to fix the washing machine/fridge etc has condemned the CU!

Yep, if you look closely at the MET, the 10mm cable is from BG having put in a new meter and bonding it. Said 'better get this looked at fella' and so I turned up!! Rewire on the way, ta BG!
