or should the spark have walked away????

went to a boiler change today that had been wired ready, the spark that had doen the work had a dis agreement with the owners about the way to run the cable, the owners didnt want mini trunking and they wouldnt pay out for the wall to be chased and made good, this is what they were left with

also the new circuit was terminated into light switch instead of a dp switch which it should have been.

exept that it wont have been an electrician that did this would it.....no sparky worth a damn will have passed this off as `normal`...or would have even considered risking their reputation on the basis of this sh**e....no guys n girls....this was done by a prop up down`t local bar....

it was an niceic registered company, iv been tasked to put it right next week before we finish the boiler

and how is that going to be done? mini trunking or chasing in the wall that the customer did not want? The op said the boiler supply came from a normal light switch, are you sure it is not a 20 amp double pole switch?

maybe customer thought it could be done wireless went to a job once where a woman wanted a socket next to phone point for cordless phone,cu 3m away doesnt want decor disturbed so no chases, and doesnt want trunking asked why it couldnt be done wireless like the phone!

Im in shock after seeing this pic ....... i mean pink curtains and bedding on a blue background  if that aint gonner cause your child sexual identity confusion then what is !!!!!

Was the cable a spur from a socket or the thermostat cable,

Thermostat cable, go wireless
If a 3a supply for the boiler and depending if the boiler was in the loft and taking loading of upstairs lighting into account could a get out of trouble quick fix be come off the lighting circuit, not ideal but hey

The customer has agreed to us tidying it up into mt, it was light switch as it was taken off the wall to check

If the client didn't want MT and didn't want it chased but wanted power to their boiler, I'd say this is exactly what they wanted....
Can't imagine how the conversation must have gone....
"You either get surface minitrunk, or I chase and you make good, which is it?"
"Niether"
"Do you want your boiler to work"
"Yes"
"Fine, here you go"

no decent spark would leave ANY job like this regardless

the way im reading this is the spark left it like that because customer refused mt or a chase, but the plumber is tasked to put it right, why now and not then?,seems to be a bit of Electrical Trainee nic bashing going on possibly..

are you spark 1 or spark 2,if spark 2 why the change of mind regards the trunk spark 1 wasnt allowed to fit.and why is spark 2 on the job, wheres spark 1 to put any problems right under any warranty period,is spark 2 getting paid to put spark 1's work right..
