Shower anyone?

Went to look at a job yesterday and seen someone had decided to put a isolator on the shower as one wasn't fitted. Talk about making something alot more dangerous than it was, it was even wired in harmonised colours. Further investigation showed there was a isolator fitted but was in the kitchen down stairs. Was only protected by a BS3036 fuse no RCD fitted

All been ripped out now as a gravity fed shower is being fitted.

Particularly like the earth tape holding the cable to the wall, nice touch that. Is the cable there for hanging your shower gel on or does it have another function?

Ah yes spotted the problem straight away, g/y tape supporting cable,should have been gaffer tape lol:joker:

ohh hang on when I installed that, the ocupier was happy and the shower worked.. what else do you want!!!!!

Whats the problem, the plaster and tiles will hide it all...looks a job well done to me...isolater in the kitchen for switching the shower off when the wifes taking too long...it was on the spec...

My Grandparents had an isolator outside their bathroom for the shower. We had great fun as kids turning it off when it was in use :smilielol5:

Scary isnt it...You think how has nothing serious happened here?....and how often have I heard "Well its been ok for the last 6 years or so".

I particularly like the way they kept the cable entry into the backbox tight. No way you could stick a finger in there....

look...its my guess that its on a 40A.....so as long as the fuse hasn`t been tampered with it should meet 5s disconnection time.....i cant see a problem here guys.....
