Shower Circuit

Could not believe what I found today, ( see Pic) Took front cover off of CU which was not marked up and all there was was 6 x 2.5mm ring circuits which is what I expected or so it seemed. The board was one of two of which the other was for lighting only and this one was meant to be for Ring final circuits only... On further inspection around the property I find a shower room (ah I thought , where is that fed from, well it turned out that someone had spurred off of the nearest socket with a piece of 2.5mm about 5 meters long, when I was discussing it with the owner he said that a guy that read his electric meter sometime ago said that he would wire in a shower at a good price, fortunately the shower has never been used because he had never had it finished with the plumbing and waste.... What can I say.......

It really is shocking, just looked at a shower fault, the fault was the customer had had a new bathroom installed 18 months ago, really nice, fully tiled with a 10.5KW shower new at the time. That shower now is not working correctly. After investigating guess what, I found 6mm cable instead of 10mm and the MCB was only a B32 so after asking who installed the shower I was told, the bathroom fitter did it, guess what, no certificate either. I now have the task of trying to install a new 10mm shower circuit without damaging the guy's tiles as he has just contacted me saying he has bought another 10.5KW shower and will I fit it for him.
The only good thing apart from the work is that the customer is a police officer and is hopefully sueing the barthroom fitter's --- off.
Thats the main problem for Part P is that it isn't policed and these bathroom/kitchen fitters are still getting away with it!!

Also once found an Electric 8.5KW shower fed off an immersion heater switch with 2.5mm flex , the guy wondered why the flex was getting warm, hmmm, I wonder!

I went to a call-out for a lady who's landlord has sent in the Romanian builders, the shower kept blowing after a few mins ..... so after a quick look i discovered a 6mm cable leading back to a hidden panel in the bathroom that had a socket in it where the 6mm was plugged into. After pointing it out to the lady she told me that the 'electrician' had already changed the cable from a 1.5mm T+E to the 6mm when it had happened originally .......... WTF
