Girl rang me said her shower wasn't working went round pulled the cord light came on, on the switch. Turned the shower on at the shower and not only does it not work but the light in the pull cord goes out! Any ideas??

check its wired up correctly then test the circuit if the results are ok check the power is getting as far as the shower, if it is the shower in cream crackered. are you sure the light didn't go off because the mcb or rcd tripped.

You post is too basic .... you express no test results, not even if you have power at the shower.
Has the protective device tripped?

Im a little concerned you have asked this with what seems only a visual inspection... how can we answer if you show no testing in your opening post.

Ps welcome to the forum - more info please.

As an Electrician you should be showing competence by doing the testing first and then if you are confused by the results we would be happy to guide you.

Sorry forgot to say connections all grand. 240 up to shower. And continuity on live, neutral n earth all 100%, I was blaming the shower as the wiring up to it is all ok.

Thanks for te help and welcome btw

Do not assume he could be an electrician with his brains removed
