industry standard!

im going to start a revoloution single handed

all my future Shower and Cooker installs will be connected Via a contactor rather than a DP isolator! (where practical..)

i have seen enough of squashing cables in boxes and burnt out neutrals on pull cords to decide my way is the best way on installs!!!

any body already use this method or have and disturbing info that may decide me otherwise??

one of the advantages og a gas cooker, no cable calcs, no isolation, no problems, just pipe it with any old bit of leftover copper pipe, check for leaks ( ptfe tape cures all ) . collect in an hour5 x as much as a spark would for sweating all day. oh to be a ( gas almost safe ) plumber.

Just be careful to use the correct PTFE tape ....... not all of it is suitable for gas. ;)

And, watch what you're doing with the blow torch !!! :)

It may have one advantage
The control circuit switching can be cited where the man of the house can finally rest control of the showering times
Timer controlled contactor in the DB and no local isolation. I'd just love to see the plumber's face, much scratching of his head and sucking of breath "this gonna cost you missus...etc" How long would it take him to work that one out when called to fix the faulty/replacement shower.
