Can someone let me know how you work out maximum demand on one of these things? What size cable will I need???

All I've got is:

230v
input- 44A
Output-125A

Was thinking 10mm but would like to know the actual formula to work out its maximum demand....second one I've done and have no idea how I work anything out from the figures I've got..,.

HS to help you mate to design something you need much more information type of cable you intend to use, erection method, length of run etc.

HS I'm not trying to be awkward but if your looking to do this kind of work, and you need to design circuits you will need to know how to.

Show us your calcs mate, go through and I'm sure all on here will be more than happy to guide you through it

Malcolm I have no problem working out standard circuits when I know the maximum demand or have a rough idea. I dont think you meant it but you post came across as a little patronsing. If you didnt mean it that way i apologise. I'm a qualifid electrician.

However....

What I'm asking is... Which ampage do you use.. The input or the output? Is there any formula you need to use on a forklift charger to find maximum demand.

Forulas after that I'm fine with!

you use the input figure for your supply load. that is the current drawn by the charger under losd. the output current is higher as it's a step down transformer.
