Single cu change Bonding cable to gas then water broken

Hi people, I'm due to do a cu change and noticed the single bonding cable to gas then to water but it's in two bits of cable. Am I right in thinking that it have to correct this due to cu change? It would mean running another cable which is annoying as gas and water are about 18inches apart but the existing is not long enough grrrrr!

In-line crimp the existing cables and loop one part of the cable through the first earth clamp then onto the other!

the NICEIC have an interesting take on some of the regs BUT I refer to BS 7671 as my reference

I think it is mentioned in the earthing and bonding guidance note as best practice, but reg 132.16 is the pertinent one here.

I just think it's good practice incase Kev the kitchen fitter comes along and removes the water bond (and doesn't reconnect it like usual) it's then still continues on to the gas or vice versa.

You would be lucky if the cover on the cu is still intact after the kitchen fitters have been in!
