Hi,

First post on the forums here and some very useful information.

I am wondering is it possible to install single phase sockets (both 16amp and 32amp) using a 3 phase supply?

I am intending to get a qualified electrician in to carry out the work but want to ask is it possible firstly before I get quotes etc. What sort of safety features (rcd/mcb?) would be required and roughly how much would it be for this work.

It's in my home garage.

Thanks very much.

Yes, easily done in most situations.
There are very few 3-phase installations that supply only 3-phase equipment, most do have single phase supplies taken from them.

Make sure you use a qualified electrician and not just a domestic installer as domestic installers are not qualified to touch 3 phase installations.
no Victor....
as for insurance...most insurance companies offer public liability for 3 phase as an add on....
so its always prudent to be absolutely specific with them when getting quotes....
