Hi all im new here Just completed my first install and hows your luck i installed 12x sharp nu 250 j5 pannels and an sma 3000hf invertor and i was ready for my first system switch on to find that i was only getting at max 1.2amps and around 400v spoke to sma and they said they had past it on to the germans to find out what was going on in the mean time they have sent out a replacement invertor which will be here tuesday i recomend to everyone stay clear of the sma 3000 hf

I've got 14 Sharp NUR240J5 panels and a SB 3000HF, no issues at all - works fine (although the panels are badly made - thats another story!)

amp test is 6.35a around 390v. I spoke to sma and apparentley a few installers have reported this problem but with the sanyo pannels. All sma could tell me is that they were aware of problems and speaking to the germans. They sent out another inverter which arrived friday fitted it and just the same as the last one 0.3a 400v helllllllpppppppppppppppppppppppp please someone

I know it sounds obvious but have you checked the AC for 230v at the output side of the Isolator, or indeed at the buckineer connector, we have had two occasions like this, one when neutral wasent terminated in isolator correctly and second a duff isolator, both were with the 3000hf and its symptoms match what your seeing, it wont come up with an error just that its seraching for grid.

I installed 16 Sharp NUR250J5 panels and I found it really hard to get them to look straight on the roof. I took them off several times and still im not 100% happy, do the frames flex?

They do tend to buckle out of shape. I would strongly advise that you check the build quality of any panels that you plan on using if you have not used them before.

I've not known of any issue with SB3000HF's. Usual problems are with wiring/dc isololator or Sunclix connectors. I've had a few installers call me with issues similar to this, asked them to remake the Sunclix connector and suddenly the inverter works.

Did you call your supplier when you had this issue? Most good suppliers can talk you thru some quick checks to see if there is a problem with the inverter or not.

SMA HF inverters are good. You've either been very unlucky, or got a duff connection somewhere.

I dont think two inverters can be faulty ??? it must be somthing you have dont !!! I bet you the polarity of the sting are mixed up !!!
SWAP the pos and neg around on the strings it will work !!!

you will still get reading from the test but it wont start inverter MIXED POLARITY 100%

all sorted 1st invertor was duff second one works great now one of the bloody pannel plugs that was factory done had a loose connection cheers everyone for you time
