Assuming the terminations were actually originally tight ...the damage their is consistent with under-rated connection and as i can make out the cables are paralleled up ..... what size pump out of interest that looks a sizable supply.

I take it the overload is else where?

Some people are just too picky.
A bit of tape and the jobs good to go.

It may help if you gave some information. Motor size, cable size, protection, the list just goes on.

Them connectors are the flip cover and look like Entrelec or similar... the range goes from 125amp to 520amp and as the 125amp rated connectors can handle cables up to 35mm ill hazard a guess thats the ones in the pic.... next size up is 192amp and max 70mm lugs which seems too large.....

This would suggest they are rated ok although we lack info'

Now im a little confused to the set-up here it seems the bottom set are linked but can't make out any linking bars the top and middle sets?

It seems judging from the earth on the left that this is a paralleled supply but only seems the grey set have been cross linked ... looking closer i suggest poor crimping methods or loose connection has overheated the grey set and charred off the connector housing - the other burnt offerings above on red and black are purely subject to thermal conduction from the overheating of the grey set.

Looking at the dis-colouration where the supply grey phase enters the board this would suggest temperatures even at this distance were in excess of 70c so must have been a lot worse at the termination.

CSI Darkwood checking out ;)

I'll get more info tomorrow folks
On size
I know it cost 40grand for each pump we have three of them on this site it's 95 mm tails
The connectors are the flip kind and the company that installed these for us crimped the pump cables with 95mm crimps and on the other two pumps i could pull the crimps off without a lot of wiggling hardly any compression on the pump side of the tails
The pumps are driven by variable speed drives and connected in delta

Connectors likely 269amps (maybe 250amp if different brand) I'm thinking they have indent crimped the tri-rated rather than shape crimping it as I would have - hence we have a poor crimping termination and thus resulting in massive failure.

Depends on the tri-rated size .... ferrules for the small control panel cabling is usually a indent crimper although usually duel dents - but i get what you mean and would be a high suspect for the results in post 2
