Discuss So I have been doing it wrong all these years in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I love this place, how to do videos peaple having a go at some one for 4" not 4cm and stolen avatars.
Leave it to me I will ring the plod and get it sorted, let's be happy as it's the 1st October we can all go to the shops and buy Christmas decorations. Happy New Year one and all

No! someone's got my Avatar. I assume maybe you did it first, but it seemed a good idea to me (and I really hadn't spotted yours beforehand !). Great minds think alike.
Mine is just behind the house.
We'll keep it our little secret - shows that we like this electricity stuff!

By far and large & way past Utubes, I'm finding customers that come from HD (abbreviated because i don't know if forum rules allow me to post it) having witnessed some electrically wired 'display model' as the gold standard.

I don't know who wires them , electrical isle employee? corporate headquarters?, or whatnot , but some are truly awful by any bona fide sparks standards , the majority of us wouldn't lower ourselves to it....

As i do biz in what i'd simply describe as the wild west , a bureaucratic mess of 50 odd fiefdoms of revolving rules , it's common to roll up on a DIY'er install standing on the advice of this big box monopoly, asking us to 'just energize it'.

Does this work the same in the UK?

The usual approach is "I will just run the cable and fit the accessories and get a spark in to connect up and provide a certificate!"
or "I will get an electrician in to sign it off once I have done the work."
Inappropriate, dangerous, and not legal in many cases.
Pretty much like the video above!

You actually understood That?

Just a thought, but do you reckon he is a forum member, or better still knows someone who is, bet his lugholes are burning. That's ears for the more PC amongst us.
