I've got a Kewtech wander lead and the croc clips have decided to self destruct on that more than once.

Especially trying to clamp it on copper pipes. I phoned the nice people at Kewtech, who sent a replacement in the post.

too sensible. .

however, here's a tip.if you want to ensure good IR readings on a circuit, use wooden clothes pegs instead.

That is exactly what I ended up doing with my megger clips, I think it's a standard thing with new clips not to actually clip to anything useful.

they do clip very well to an apprentice's testicles when you want to take an IR reading though.

Interesting thread .......... my Metrel ones are ok and I've had a few sets over the last 9 years ..........

Me too, the Metrel crocs are solidly made with a good tight spring. Not had one break yet, but lost one of them. Lead set is 6 years old now and doing ok.
