These fools could recite the regs book off the top of there heads but give them a 404 error and they wouldn't have a clue.
thing like 127.0.0.1 lol

if you're clued up on these infernal machines, you might know how i can fix mine if i tell you what it won't do.

Nobody likes a smart arse :13:
There is only 10 types of people in this world those who understand binary and those that dont

192.0.0.1 etc is ipv6

Bassically every internet device is assigned an ip from 0.0.0.0 to 192.192.192.192

192.0.0.1 is the local ip on your own network etc

I have yet to be approached by the team regarding my request in # 1

Open your internet explorer
Click on settings
click on browsing history
delete browsing history
confirm you want to delete it.

That always seems to work for me and keep me out of trouble.

it's way beyond easy fixes, dilb. it's looking like the OS is corrupted. it does everything right with the exception of seeing a printer, even after re-installing drivers, installing another printer, 3 days in repair shop having scans and malware removal,

Probably be be cheaper to get a new machine than pay for repairs, unless you have some important info on it that you need to keep.

just about everything. certs, financial stuff, tech. stuff. photos. most is backed up on memory sticks. soon update the back-up. got my eye on a acer r7 at the right price at the mo.

Well this is longest I have managed to stay on the forum all weekend, so fingers crossed it may have been sorted.

You should be able to connect your old hard drive to your new machine so as long as that's not corrupt you shouldn't lose any of that.

It's IPv4 which is a 32 bit address
IPv6 is a hexadecimal address that is a 128 bit address. For more info

Bassically every internet device is assigned an ip from 0.0.0.0 to 192.192.192.192

192.0.0.1 is the local ip on your own network etc

There are a number IP addresses reserved for private networks not just 192.?.?.? etc

And they go all the way up to 255.255.255.255 which is a broadcast address
