Try Moneysupermarket.com it came up with loads cheaper than British gas who I am with now for duel fuel
one was Utilita which was £192 cheaper monthly variable
another was spark2 advance I think and that was £380? lol
so worked my tariff out and deffo being ripped
I then Rang Bg to ask about switching tariffs for my Mum also as I feared they would be increasing soon
My mum Got one October 2014 fixed Standing charge 17p a day and about 12p a kw/h
Next day BG announces increases so ring trying to get same tariff and amazingly they have all changed and reflect the new price increases Nov fix and fall 26p a day standing charge and about 15p a kw/h rogues
I am currently on standard tariff and paying the most new standard tariff is same as Nov fix and fall prices so no point changing to that
they have a alternative March 2016 which is even more lol Fixed with £50 early exit fee for both fuels
So think soon its time to jump ship from BG been a customer forever lol the lady on the phone didnt have a answer when i said I thought the new prices were only due to come in on the 23rd but amazingly all new tariffs have already increased to reflect these increases
Each year over the last few I have cut the amount of energy we are using 1 year saving 500kw/h on each fuel roughly for them to increase it and it cost me over £100 more lol
couple of years back was paying about £500+ for each fuel then £600+ last year £750+ reckon when I get my annual statements soon it will be 800-900 each so with new prices next year will be £1000+ each
They should be shot at dawn and the whole thing changed back to Public owned not for profit as they are a necessity especially for elderly or vulnerable who like me wont have been putting it on until practically freezing
anyway thats my 2 pennies worth lol
