Socket above 2kw electric fireplace for tv

HI, CAN SOMEONE TELL ME IF ITS OK TO PUT A SINGLE SOCKET ABOUT A FOOT ABOVE A 2KW ELECTRIC FIREPLACE FOR A TV?

I AM GOING TO WIRE IT INTO THE RING BUT JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE IT COMPLIES WITH REGS. ALSO I AM GOING TO BURY THE CABLE IN THE WALL BEHIND THE FIREPLACE IN CONDUIT IS THIS OK?

I can't see it would be a problem but would'nt the heat from the fire bugger the tv up anyway?

i would mount the socket higher up, away from the heat. and please don't use caps for posting.

dont forget to use a fused spur on the fireplace. and most electric fire places just blow out hot air from the bottom of the fireplace which shouldn't be a problem. there mostly for show, no real heating from them

Single socket would be fine with the correct fuse fitted

Although a hard wired spur would look better IMO

when i do wall mounted TVs. i fit the socket behind 1 corner of the set so when the TV is fitted, it's out of sight.

Spot on telec, I do the same . Leave space for the bracket and try to get it in the same side as the power supply

yea thats what im going to do, how far away from the fireplace must the fused spur be? ideally i want it right next to the fire but obviously theres regs on how far it should be and i want to comply with them.

and also is it ok to bury the 2.5 t+e in conduit in the wall directly behind the fireplace as it goes off to another socket the other side of the fireplace. thank you
