Socket and see

Hi guys a friend of mines just changed some sockets in his kitchen for some nice chrome ones and asked me if I'd lend him a socket tester it's the socket and see one with earth loop and rcd test has anyone used one on a tt system the reason is it says check earth now it has 3 readings on the tester one is good earth one is check earth other is bad earth he lives about 50 mile away from me so can't get there for about a week or so to test properly he has 4 rings in the house and it doesn't matter which one they all read the same he's checked all earths r connected so I'm thinking it's a bit high because of tt system I don't think I've ever used it on one any thoughts

When the 'check earth' warning illuminates it means that there is earth continuity but it is >1.80 ohms, that's not surprising on a TT considering the Ze alone could be up to 200

Wasting your time with that socket and see contraption as bugsy says test it properly.

Yeh I know how to test properly like I said I don't think I've ever plugged it in to a tt and don't no what the tollerances r on the 3 led loop
