+1 for the Bahco S330, cheap for a quality 3/8 set and it'll have all the sizes you need

Hi guys

im currently starting my nvq 3 and am starting to buy some hand tools gradually. For my next purchase I want to buy a basic socket set that I can use on panels when using lugs etc or fixing equipment down! Can anyone recommend one please? I've seen this online but would it be any good??

Thanks

Bahco BAHSL25 SL25 Socket Set 25-Piece 1/4-Inch Drive

Iv'e got a set of these 7 piece metric rounded bolt removal socket set they're really good and also come with a lifetime guarantee. these are 3/8" drive and have actually got me out of some sticky situations on site.

Hope this helps.

The vast majority of jobs where a socket set is required, can be adequately handled by 1/4'' and 3/8'' socket set. 1/2'' sockets walls are generally far too thick and sometimes difficult to fit into tight spaces.

Snap on 3/8" drive mate and 13 & 17mm 1/2" to fit on my impact wrench and wera 1/2"to 1/4" to fit PZ2 bits.

Buy the impact range & industrial ratchet and they will last forever

I have found over the last 40/50 years that I would have been ££££££'s better off if I had stuck to 1/4 and 3/8 drive with a set of 1/2 drive up to 20-25 mm. But every time I see a bright shiny box full of bits I will never use, I just must buy it (just in case).

top is 3/4 of an inch if you cant make it out

I have the 1/4 and 3/8 Bahco set very good quality, used a lot over 10 years no issues and you can buy sockets individually if you should lose one,
you won't regret buying them, I use the smaller set daily on motor terminals etc and use a wera driver with socket adaptor instead of having a set of nut drivers

My only complaint would be that I'd like a proper hardwearing soft case, as although the plastic cases are fairly robust they won't last anywhere near as long as the tools they house!
Something like the type Wera do with their screwdrivers but for these socket sets, if anyone knows of something suitable I'd be interested !
