Hi,

Yesterday while I was ironing my electric blow..just down stairs sockets had to reset..rccb load split yellow tab..thought thats it a new iron..so went out and brought a new one..plugged it back in to same doulbe switch but other side..after ironing with new iron for around 20 mins same again ..blow elec....thought must be double socket..will call someone out Monday..well this morning plugged iron in again..different room and after 20 mins again blow elec..any idea's Thanks..never had a problem before.

If you have more than 1 socket circuit in the property ie up and down and maybe kitchen try the iron in different circuits to see if you have the same result of the RCD tripping.

Sounds like a faulty iron to me though tbh.

is that suspose to be a Sensible answer.

It may be a joke in this instance but joking aside I recently did a re-wire in a flood prone area and removed 2 or 3 sockets to find a netwok of shrews living behind them..............

If the waterways flood the vermin find dry places for refuge and gnaw everything in sight.

Sockets must be on different circuit cos when it tips upstairs is fine...iron is brand new ..brought it yesterday after other one tripped it first..

So have you tried it upstairs to see if you have the same tripping problem? This will rule out the iron if the RCD stays on.

I have seen new appliances that have been faulty in the past although not very often.

Or just save all the agro and get a proper sparks round for 45 minutes to test the supply cable and re-fit the socket 'properly'
