Sodium Lamp life

Hi all

Could any one tell me if there is a difference in lamp life between a sodium lamp with an integral ignitor and one without.

If in doubt I always ring the manufacturer.,It's quicker and more accurate, best bet is Havells Sylvania they make almost every conservable lamp type.

...just been on Osram site, their lamps..

Internal Ignitor 24000 hours
External Ignitor 28000 - 32000 hours

Guessing there's less to go wrong with the external as they don't have the extra working parts.

Buy cheap ones and the life expectancy is the same - about 3 months
