looking at replacing this unit anyone recommend an upgrade or direct replacement ?

Try these @marc8

They might be able to match a resol controller but a quick google and looks like you will have to change sensor on panel/flow and on the cylinder. As the controller has the boiler control function the room thermostat will need changing for a conventional room thermostat.

Hi Leesparkykent

many thanks for that, looks like the relays are shot might be an attempt at fixing the unit first but not sure if anything else is damaged, problem I got is that there is no cylinder stat or room stat, just small probe cables by look of it, thinking & by looking found very interesting silver box under a floor board looks like the 3 port valve. think probes just might be tapped to pipes.
will find out on Wednesday.
temp repair on 23rd December was to get boiler running for hot water & heating but had to rely on the boiler temperature switch for control & the plug socket that system was plugged into.
Wednesday going in with RF room stat, programmer & if possible cylinder stat wiring but if i cant get wiring through to airing cupboard then will use RF cylinder stat also.
then change solar controller over & keep both systems separate to a degree.
lady in the house says unit has worked for her for past 30 years+ no problems.
trouble was when i went to have a look i was the last call as they had changed burner (oil boiler) just in case it was that then a new pump cause they thought it was that, not sure on the MV valve that might be under the floor don't think they got that far.
but i will get heating & water control sorted on Wednesday & then fit solar controller.
had a look for this unit online thinking nice little swap out but due to the age of the system unlikely.
put a picture of time clock for hot water heating boost up this is what i am dealing with home made, shame i did not take a picture of the front cover will do Wednesday.
